Join this first webinar to learn how campuses can use the U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit, its adaptation planning framework, and Second Nature resources to support local resilience planning. Speakers will introduce the Steps to Resilience from the U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit, and discuss how this complements the framework for implementing the Presidents’ Climate Leadership Commitments. Participants will also learn about the Climate Explorer, which offers downscaled climate information by county within the 48 contiguous states, and how they can use this tool to support their own resilience planning processes.

Join this webinar to learn about financial considerations campuses can include while planning for increased resilience. Participants will learn how to evaluate their school’s physical risk due to climate change, as well as the risks posed by the rapid transition to a low-carbon economy, and the opportunities presented by a changing climate. Participants will also hear a case study on resilience planning from California State University Long Beach (CSULB), including how CSULB is thinking about funding its work on resilience. Participants will hear how Tufts University is approaching climate resilience, including alignment with the school’s Hazard Mitigation Plan. Portland State University will share examples of effective partnerships around resilience and strategies for developing relationships with community stakeholders.
